Barangaroo, Sydney

Meze, the harbour, and a warm welcome.

About Anason

The spirit of Istanbul, on Sydney Harbour.

Set on the Barangaroo waterfront, Anason is a place for long lunches, afternoon drinks and generous dinners shared around the table. Come for a few plates of meze and a rakı, stay for the mains and another bottle of wine. Warm Turkish hospitality is at the heart of it all, and just like a good meyhane, there’s no need to rush.

Opening hours: Monday – Sunday 12pm–10pm

— King prawns on the charcoal grill

Raki & Cocktails

The spirit of the evening.

Anason means anise. It’s the base of raki — the national spirit of Turkey, clouding white when it meets water and ice. Our bar is built around it: cocktails, Turkish and Australian wines, and a raki list longer than most.

— Pomegranate sour, raki, cocktail meze

Atom, labne, green pepper jam, chilli butter
